Our mission

The Captive Breeding

Slandered and persecuted for a long time, all diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey are now protected in France since 1972.
Any removal from wildness is against the law. The mission of Donjon des Aigles for years has been to help the preservation and reproduction of birds of prey. These birds are installed away from the public so as they are not disturbed.

Regarding parrots, many serious approved breeders of our region know about the reproduction of the different species presented during our show at Donjon des Aigles

The replacement clutch

Sometimes artificial insemination is necessary. For the most part, natural reproduction is favoured with the first clutch of eggs being removed. Three weeks later, a second clutch is laid (called the replacement clutch) which is left for parents to assure the renewal.

It is there, in their natural environment, that they must be loved and protected …
